Android internet configuration settings for Nigerian SIM cards

if you are in Nigeria today and after changing your phone or your SIM card you realised that you are unable to access the internet on your phone, it could be as a result of the internet configuration of your phone not being properly set, many people find it difficult to access the internet after changing their phone or changing their SIM card to another network.

On this page we will show you how to configure your Android phone to suit any Nigerian SIM such as MTN, Glo, Airtel or 9mobile.

First of all you have to go to your Android phone’s settings and select More, please note that this option varies based on what version of Android you are using, in some phones you will get this internet configuration settings in “more” while in some other latest Android versions you will get it under “Internet” or “Network Connection”. Then in some Android select SIM card and internet network then select the sim you want to configure and select access point name then add new access point or click on the + button at the top of your phone by the right side, now you can add your new access point name.

Airtel access point configuration settings

  • Name: Airtel NG
  • APN: internet.ng.airtel.com
  • Username: internet
  • password: internet

The rest can be ignored.

 

MTN access point configuration settings

  • Name: MTN Nigeria
  • APN: web.ng.mtnnigeria.net

The rest can be ignored.

 

Glo access point configuration settings

  • Name: glo flat
  • APN: gloflat
  • Username: flat
  • Password: flat

 

9mobile access point configuration settings

  • Name: 9mobile
  • APN: 9mobile

You can ignore the rest.

 

Make sure you save and select the newly saved access point configuration  then restart your phone and turn on your data. congratulations! your phone’s internet access should be back now.
